About Grievesk Bend

Grievesk Bend is an independent project created and maintained by Paolo Macellaro. It offers free tools and information for sheet metal bending operators, tooling specialists, CAD/CAM programmers, designers and production technicians.

The project draws on more than 25 years of practical experience in sheet metal bending departments, industrial press brake tooling and CAD/CAM programming.

Purpose

The aim is to make common calculations more accessible, including deriving the K-factor from a sample, estimating flat pattern development and consulting references for V-die openings and bending force.

Method and limitations

Results depend on the entered data and the calculation model. Some functions use empirical formulas or preliminary estimates that may be refined as additional data is collected and verified. Results should be checked against the actual available tooling and appropriate workshop tests.
